Information for New Students

You planned to start studying on campus in April, right? The coronavirus is turning everything upside down for all of us, but our departments are all currently working on making their services and courses available in other ways. You could spend some time on the following to get to know TU Berlin's structures:

Points of Contact for Questions About Studying at TU Berlin

It is natural to have a lot of questions at the start of your studies. And particularly now...The summer semester may have already started, but it may have been a bit bumpy in places due to the changes implemented because of COVID-19.

You likely already met the contact persons in your faculty or academic chair during the online orientation week. Or perhaps not?

The primary point of contact at your faculty for any questions concerning studying and your degree program is first and foremost Course Guidance, regardless whether you have a question about study content or organization. Additionally, the representative committees, or Inis, in your academic chair can often assist you, including if you have questions, for example, about current virtual campus life: How can I meet up with, let alone meet, fellow students right now?

The General Students’ Committee at TU Berlin also offers advice for questions about studying. And of course, you can contact us, the Academic Advising Service, at any time (see the contact boxes on the right).

Online videos of our New Student Day 2019

The videos give you a detailed insight into the structure of TU Berlin, contact points and initiatives. Here you can find out what’s important at the start of your studies. Even if the presentations are, of course, based on in-class teaching, you can still pick up some important tips for the coming weeks. You’ll see the faces of the people working at the main points of contact, who can still be reached by email or telephone. Time well spent!
