Academic Advising Service

We help you find your way. The Academic Advising Service supports you in getting oriented with everything related to your studies.

Individual Advising

You have questions or feel clueless when you think about studying? Stop by the Academic Advising Service without an appointment during our office hours to discuss all topics related to your studies. We’re here for you from before you’re accepted for studies throughout your entire time here and offer support in planning the next step on your way.

You may contact us as followed:

Open Office Hours

You can talk to us on Campus:

Tuesdays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Thursdays from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.

During our Open Office Hours you can come to us without an appointment. In order to do so, you come to room H0070 and explain your inquiry to our Clearing Team. After that you will have the opportunity to have an indivdual and confidential advising session with one of our Academic Advisers.

In case of acute and infectious illnesses we kindly ask you to visit our Digital Office Hours (see below).

Online Office Hours

You can reach us via Zoom:

Wednesdays from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. (CET)

How it works:

Sign in to the TU Zoom meeting room using this link. We will individually invite you to a preliminary meeting room from this online waiting room. In the preliminary room, you will be greeted by a moderator who will briefly discuss your concern with you before sending you to a further room to speak with an academic advisor if needed.

There may be short waiting times in case of high demand, both in the waiting room and in the preliminary room. We will do our best to keep the waiting time as short as possible. Additionally: Our cameras will be on as we believe this creates a good foundation for a successful advising session. We invite you to do the same. However, we understand if you prefer not to use your camera.

Netiquette
We take respectful interaction and the general rules for online events as a matter of course.
This includes:
The recording of screenshots, audio or video recordings - even in part - is only permitted if all participants expressly agree in advance.
We do not tolerate insults, racist, sexist and other inhumane content or statements and unobjective disturbances.
We reserve the right to exclude participants in the event of violations and to punish violators under criminal law if necessary.
