What's the difference between a professional training and studies? Should I rather study at a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) or a university? Which option is "the best thing" for me?We provide an overview about the german higher education system and present TU Berlin's offers for refugees.

The guest student program In(2)TU Berlin is offered as an online format the moment. If you are interested in taking part or if you have questions, please send us an e-mail to or meet us during our video call office hours. We can also make an individual appointment via phone or Zoom.

Career planning and entry into professional life

The Career Service of TU Berlin supports refugee and international students with their entry into professional life, e.g. by offering workshops, information sessions and guidance regarding application. More information and current events can be found at the website of the (M)INT2WORK project.

Guest student program for refugees at TU Berlin

Welcome at TU Berlin! In(2)TU Berlin is a guest student program for refugees.

You are entitled to study in your home-country? You have started studying in your home-country or you even hold a degree? In these cases our guest student program is your way into TU Berlin. In(2)TU Berlin gives you an insight into our degree programs. As a participant of In(2)TU Berlin you can attend courses at TU Berlin and take exams.

Participation in In(2)TU Berlin is free.

Most of our lectures are held in German, but there is also a limited number of lectures taught in English. Hence, you should have at least basic knowledge of German or English to be able to follow the lectures.

If you are interested in taking part in In(2)TU Berlin, please get in touch with the Academic Advising (Allgemeine Studienberatung). Together we will discuss if our program is the right thing for you and we will show you which short- and long-term opportunities TU Berlin can offer you. Finally, we will tell you which further steps you need to take for compiling your individual study plan.

You do not have to make an appointment. Just come by during our office hours.
