General Student Counseling Service

For general questions about your studies, the General Student Counseling Service at the TU Berlin is the first point of contact for prospective and current students. Information material and personal counseling offer orientation for topics related to your studies and support you in reaching a decision.

The General Student Counseling Service gives you an overview of the information “jungle” and shows you the paths you can take. To do so, the team researches and collects content and makes it available on the TU websites, in printed form, or at events. At the TU’s information days, at lectures, in programs for school groups, and at fairs, the General Student Counseling Service answers questions about choosing a degree program and studying at the TU Berlin. It supports new students during their first days at the university and gives them advice on getting a good start to their studies. Many of these programs show how to get information so that prospective and current students can do their own research and evaluate it.

In personal counseling sessions, the General Student Counseling Service gives support for making thought-out decisions and clarifying the next steps. The counseling service is geared towards those seeking advice and is done free of charge, confidentially, and with no particular result in mind. You can take advantage of the services more than once.

The General Student Counseling Service coordinates two study programs: The program for school students “Studying at 16” and the bridging program for refugees “In(2)TU.”
